How the pattern studio works
Seamless by design
Each pattern is one tile that repeats. Shapes that cross an edge are drawn again on the opposite side, so the repeat has no seams. Turn on Seam test to see nine tiles with their edges marked.
Colour and layout are separate
Changing or shuffling colours never moves a shape. Random layouts (blobs, confetti, geometric tiles) come from a seed: New layout draws a new one, and the same seed always gives the same result.
Exports
The SVG tile and full-size SVG stay vector. PNG and WebP keep a transparent background if you choose one. CSS uses the tile as a background image; CSS cannot rotate a background tile, so it is not offered for rotated patterns.
On a wall
“Try it on a wall” repeats your tile across one wall of a 3D-rendered space, lit like the rest of the room. It is an illustrative feature-wall treatment, not a paint product, wallpaper or manufacturer’s design.
