Matt, eggshell, satin and gloss describe appearance, but product naming and measured sheen vary. Do not assume two manufacturers use the same finish definitions.
Compare the effect, not just the name
Compare the sample in the lighting you use. For cleaning, moisture exposure and surface compatibility, consult the exact product data sheet rather than deciding from the name of the finish.
How the preview works
Choose a sample scene or a photo, select a wall and adjust its finish, pattern and texture. The preview preserves some image shading but cannot calculate physical light reflection, paint hiding power or weathering. The number of coats control is an illustration, not a product recommendation.
Keep the specification separate
Record the manufacturer, product, shade code, substrate, primer and coat requirements together. The correct product system depends on the surface and intended use. Do not substitute a visual match for technical compatibility.
