Build a whole-space palette rather than selecting each colour in isolation. Start with what will stay, test two or three genuinely different directions, then confirm the result with physical samples.
Start with an experiment
Open a sample scene, choose a surface and try a light, mid-tone and deep colour. Keep the same room and compare the changes. A digital preview is useful for composition, not a guarantee of the final paint colour.
