Check a text colour against its background with WCAG 2.2, test every pair in a palette, and get the smallest change that passes.
Approximate simulation. Individual colour perception and displays vary. The ratio and pass/fail results always use the actual colours, never the simulation. Check a whole palette, chart or image for colour vision.
Every pair in a palette
Paste up to ten colours (one per line or separated by commas), or open this page from the palette generator.
What the results mean
WCAG 2.2 levels
Normal text needs 4.5:1 for AA and 7:1 for AAA. Large text needs 3:1 for AA and 4.5:1 for AAA. Icons, borders and other interface parts need 3:1. Results use the exact ratio, not the rounded one shown.
Large text
Large means at least 24 CSS pixels (18 point) in regular weight, or at least 18.66 CSS pixels (14 point) in bold.
Transparency
A see-through text colour is blended onto the background first. The background must be solid: choose what it sits on.
Limits
This checks particular colour pairs. Text on gradients or photos changes from point to point, so check the weakest area. A pass here does not certify a whole website, and it says nothing about paint or building regulations.
