Colour palette generator

Generate a palette, lock the colours you like and keep going. Edit, reorder, check the variations, then save or export.

Loading the palette generator…

Start from one colour

Enter one colour and see eight different directions built around it. Your colour stays exactly as entered in every one; open any of them in the generator to keep refining.

HEX, rgb(), hsl(), oklch() or lab() values are accepted.

How the generator works

Generate and lock

Press Generate, or the space bar while the palette has focus. Locked colours never change; if every colour is locked, nothing is generated and the tool says so. Each result records its mode and seed, so it can be reproduced.

Modes and settings

Monochromatic, analogous, complementary, split-complementary, triadic and tetradic schemes, or Auto. Lightness range, colourfulness, neutral colours and the intended use (interface, interior, exterior, brand) shape the result. Presets such as calm or vibrant are creative starting points, not rules about how colours make people feel.

Paint references

“Catalogue colours only” picks every unlocked colour from the published PaintColorKE catalogue and keeps its name, code and collection. Tinting or editing such a colour makes a digital variation that remembers its source but is no longer that catalogue colour.

Digital values, not paint formulas

Colours are computed in OKLCH and shown as sRGB HEX. Screens differ, and a digital value is not a paint formula or a light-reflectance value. Check a physical sample before buying paint.

Your palettes are saved in this browser only. Share links contain the colours and locks, nothing else.
