This policy explains what information PaintColorKE (paintcolorke.com) handles when you use the website, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can: you do not need an account to use any tool.
Information you do not need to give us
- Photos and images you use in the visualizer, the image colour picker, the effects tools or the SVG tool stay in your browser. They are not uploaded to us.
- Palettes, projects and settings you save are kept in your own browser (local storage) on that device. We cannot see them. Clearing your browser data removes them.
- When a tool finds similar paint colours, only the colour values are sent to the website, never your image.
Information we do handle
- Visits. We use Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit) to understand which pages are used, from what kind of device and roughly where. Google sets analytics cookies and processes your IP address to do this. We do not use advertising cookies or sell any information.
- Server and security logs. Our host and content delivery network keep short-term technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to deliver the site, keep it secure and stop abuse.
- Palettes you send us. If you submit a community palette we keep what you enter: the palette name, its colours, the uses and styles you choose and an optional name to credit. We do not ask for or keep your e-mail address. To stop spam we keep a one-way coded identifier made from your connection details; it cannot be turned back into your IP address. Palettes are reviewed by a person before they appear.
- Reports. If you report a palette we keep the reason and any note you add, with the same coded identifier.
Cookies
Google Analytics cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) count visits. Our network may set a short-lived security cookie to tell people from bots. Staff who sign in to manage the site get WordPress sign-in cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the tools keep working without them.
How long we keep information
Analytics data is kept for the period set in our Google Analytics account (14 months at most). Server logs are kept for a short time by our host. Submitted palettes are kept for as long as they are published or waiting for review; rejected ones are deleted.
Who else handles it
Google (analytics), our web host and our content delivery network process information for us to run the website. Some of them may process it outside Kenya under their own safeguards. We share information with authorities only when the law requires it.
Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 of Kenya you can ask to see, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, and object to how it is used. You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner. To make a request, write to us at info@paintcolorke.com.
Children
PaintColorKE is a general audience website. It is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

We will update this page when our practices change and show the date of the latest version at the top.
